Flush by Carl Hiaasen


Flush by Carl Hiaasen is a story that tells the importance of the environment. The story is told about a teenage boy, Noah Underwood, whose father is an extremely passionate about the environment. Mr. Underwood is in jail for sinking the casino boat, Coral Queen, for believing that the cheapskate owner, Dusty Muleman, was dumping the ships waste into the ocean instead of taking it to the proper factuality's to get rid of it. Paine Underwood, Noah's father, just has to work his will power to not over react when it comes to the mistreating of the environment. Noah now has to prove whether is father was right or not about the casino boat owner getting rid of the waste illegally and polluting the water. Noah is unsure himself whether his father is really correct but he believe he has a loyalty to his family and has to do it for him. Noah and his sister Abbey both have to find out the truth but must do it quickly when they overhear their mother talking about divorce because of the incident. The kids can get no help to prove there fathers innocent from anyone because everyone believes he is guilty. The only people they find help from Lice Peeking who has gross hygiene and greedy, a bartender named Shelly, and a mysterious pirate. With them, Noah figures out a plan to take down the casino and its illegal polluting actions once and for all and to prove his father right.
